Lisa Jardine
As a young child in the 70s, my mother introduced me to yoga poses that she was taught by a local teacher. I remember her fitted leotard her joy and sharing her practice. I also remember finding a deep sense of ease in my body and mind while holding and releasing poses. It was “ remembered wellness” (~Dr Hubert Benson) In 2011, I completed my first 200 hour yoga teacher training with Sherry Zak and Coeli Marsh at Halifax Yoga. It was a wonderful start to an amazing journey of sharing my practice with others. Since then, I have been privileged to explore my practice and teaching with inspiring teachers, to whom I owe much gratitude: Leslie Kaminoff, Bo Forbes, Eddie Modestini, and Eoin Finn. In 2015, I completed my first restorative teacher training with my teacher Jillian Pransky at Kripalu Centre for wellness and health. In the very first month of the RYTT training, it felt like home. I have been teaching, assisting and embodying, restorative yoga ever cents. I have completed or assisted hundreds of hours of restorative yoga training and I am excited and honoured to share what I know of this powerful practice with the Halifax yoga community. Yoga offers transformation. It is a practice that provides opportunity to move through circles of healing and growth. In particular, restorative yoga, offers an opportunity to mindfully find ease in your body, provide techniques to quiet the mind while incorporating breast to Fillmore, naturally and fully. I hope to see you soon.
