My first exposure to yoga was when I was just a child growing up in the beautiful Margaree Valley. My parents had these super old yoga books on our bookshelf and my mom taught yoga classes at the local school. Fast forward to early adulthood, I felt a strong draw towards yoga, as if I were meant to practice, but I didn’t take the plunge until I moved to Montreal and was inspired by my future sister-in-law.
I started taking Hatha classes and continued on & off for a few years until I moved back to Halifax and discovered Halifax Yoga. I convinced a friend to sign up for an Intro to Yoga workshop with me and that was the beginning of my 9-year love affair with Halifax Yoga! The warm, welcoming community was as much of a draw as the rush and release I received from the classes I attended.
My passion grew and it was a natural step for me to sign up for HY’s teacher training program in 2017. Since then, my love of yoga has continued to blossom, leading me to take HY’s Mentorship program in 2018, assist with Prenatal yoga, mentor new teacher training students, and take courses in Yin and Prenatal. I currently enjoy teaching a variety of classes at the studio I call home. I have a passion for nature, travel, yoga (obviously) and my fur babies, and you will rarely see me without a smile on my face!
